Here&#8217;s a (partial) list of tasks that are left to do:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Visit BC for <a href=\"http:\/\/www.nanog.org\/meetings\/nanog55\/\">NANOG 55<\/a><\/li>\n<li>Work with <a href=\"http:\/\/www.sos.wa.gov\/corps\/search_detail.aspx?ubi=602167046\">Threshold Communications<\/a> to verify interop is working as well as it seems to be<\/li>\n<li>Make sure the <a href=\"http:\/\/apps.leg.wa.gov\/wac\/default.aspx?cite=480\" target=\"_blank\">UTC<\/a> has acknowledged receipt of our 2012 filing<\/li>\n<li>Complete move of storage from old chassis to <a href=\"http:\/\/wp.colliertech.org\/cj\/wp-content\/uploads\/2012\/06\/20120601-130838.jpg\" target=\"_blank\">new-ish hot-ish-ness<\/a><\/li>\n<li>Bring one of <a href=\"http:\/\/wp.colliertech.org\/cj\/?p=1165\">these chassis<\/a> online to handle <a href=\"http:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/VoIP\" target=\"_blank\">VoIP<\/a> for the wireless <a href=\"http:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/OSI_model#Layer_2:_data_link_layer\" target=\"_blank\">L2<\/a> segment<\/li>\n<li>Bring a <a href=\"http:\/\/www.f5.com\/pdf\/products\/big-ip-platforms-ds.pdf\" target=\"_blank\">1600<\/a> online at our Bartel <a href=\"http:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Point_of_Presence\" target=\"_blank\">POP<\/a><\/li>\n<li>Take the disk image created for the above and duplicate it 3x for California-based <a href=\"http:\/\/wetnet.net\/pipermail\/seatcp\/2011-May\/011021.html\">44Net nodes<\/a><\/li>\n<li>Bring the <a href=\"http:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Virtual_Machine\" target=\"_blank\">VM<\/a>s whose storage was being provisioned via <a href=\"http:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/ISCSI\" target=\"_blank\">iSCSI<\/a> back online<\/li>\n<li>get the <a href=\"http:\/\/www.colliertech.org\/state\/80.36_RCW\/grandstream\/\">ATA<\/a> and <a href=\"http:\/\/www.colliertech.org\/state\/80.36_RCW\/grandstream\/\">DSLAM<\/a> online and hook up the customers who are demanding service.<\/li>\n<li>Call <a href=\"http:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/CenturyLink\" target=\"_blank\">CenturyLink<\/a> and explain to them that I WILL report them to the <a href=\"http:\/\/www.utc.wa.gov\/consumers\/Pages\/ConsumerComplaints.aspx\" title=\"File a Complaint\" target=\"_blank\">consumer protection department<\/a> of the Utilities and Transportation Commission if they do not take action to correct their failure in regard to contract negotiation and accounting.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>That&#8217;s probably enough, if not too much.  Here&#8217;s some of the bits I&#8217;ve done this week:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Re-establish <a href=\"http:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/IPv6\" target=\"_blank\">IPv6<\/a> connectivity for many of my hosts<\/li>\n<li>Twiddled quite a few bits on the <a href=\"http:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/BIG-IP#BIG-IP\" target=\"_blank\">BIG-IP<\/a>s<\/li>\n<li>Set up a home brew provisioning server for some <a href=\"http:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Avaya_IP_Phone_1140E\">1120E<\/a> hardware <a href=\"http:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Session_Initiation_Protocol\">SIP<\/a> phones I&#8217;ve got laying around (<a href=\"http:\/\/packages.debian.org\/squeeze\/isc-dhcp-server\">DHCP<\/a> + <a href=\"http:\/\/packages.debian.org\/squeeze\/tftpd-hpa\">TFTP<\/a> + a bunch of twiddly firmware bits and config files &#8211; ping me if you want them)<\/li>\n<li>Did a lot of updates to the <a href=\"http:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Domain_Name_System\">DNS<\/a> infrastructure.  We have slave DNS servers in all of our DCs now<\/li>\n<li>hung out on <a href=\"http:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/IRC\" target=\"_blank\">IRC<\/a> a lot<\/li>\n<li>Started accepting IPv4 HTTP requests for web.colliertech.org in <a href=\"http:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Bothell,_Washington\" target=\"_blank\">Bothell<\/a> instead of <a href=\"http:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Tukwila,_Washington\" target=\"_blank\">Tukwila<\/a>\n<li>Put together some perl &#038; php for the WA <a href=\"http:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/National_Guard_Bureau\" target=\"_blank\">NGB<\/a> to help with their online <a href=\"http:\/\/washingtonguard.org\/ARMY\/Recruiting\/storefronts.asp\" target=\"_blank\">recruiter finder<\/a><\/li>\n<li>Reduced size of <a href=\"http:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Storage_area_network\" target=\"_blank\">SAN<\/a> base <a href=\"http:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Operating_system\" target=\"_blank\">OS<\/a> (<a href=\"http:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Debian#Release_history\" target=\"_blank\">squeeze<\/a>) to something that fits on a <a href=\"http:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Compact_flash\" target=\"_blank\">CF<\/a><\/li>\n<li>Moved disks from old SAN chassis to the new one.<\/li>\n<li>Booting from CF now instead of first partition of first disk in array<\/li>\n<li>Discovered small (~3k bytes) disk error on one of the <a href=\"http:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/RAID\" target=\"_blank\">RAID<\/a> members<\/li>\n<li>Made complete backup of entire array using dd<\/li>\n<li>Replaced failing disk and began recovery, with great thanks to the <a href=\"https:\/\/raid.wiki.kernel.org\/index.php\/Linux_Raid\" target=\"_blank\">linux-raid<\/a> list\n<pre>\r\nmd0 : active <a href=\"http:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/RAID-1#RAID_5\">raid5<\/a> sdg2[6] sdc2[4] sdb2[3] sdd2[2] sdf2[1] sde2[0]\r\n      4864240640 blocks level 5, 64k chunk, algorithm 2 [6\/5] [UUUUU_]\r\n      [=========>...........]  recovery = 46.9% (456668928\/972848128) finish=1461.9min speed=5884K\/sec\r\n<\/pre>\n<\/li>\n<li>Brought up <a href=\"http:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/802.11g\" target=\"_blank\">802.11g<\/a> AP for wireless VoIP service<\/li>\n<li>Configured <a href=\"http:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Asterisk_%28PBX%29\">asterisk<\/a> to accept 24 SIP lines from GrandStream ATA<\/li>\n<li>Brought GrandStream <a href=\"http:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Analog_telephone_adapter\" target=\"_blank\">ATA<\/a> online.  Currently sending SIP\/<a href=\"http:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Real-time_Transport_Protocol\">RTP<\/a> calls over <a href=\"http:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/OpenVPN\" target=\"_blank\">OpenVPN<\/a> tunnel to avoid NAT issues.  This will be corrected when the new asterisk server is brought online.  I&#8217;ll have it connect to the core with <a href=\"http:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/IAX\">IAX<\/a>, and it will be on the same physical L2 as the GrandStream and 1120Es<\/li>\n<li>recovered <a href=\"http:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/RAID-1#RAID_1\">RAID-1<\/a> array on laptop<\/li>\n<li>made sure <a href=\"http:\/\/www.qrz.com\/db\/KE7KMO\" target=\"_blank\">KE7KMO<\/a> is still functioning<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>And probably some other stuff ;-)<\/p>\n\n<div class=\"twitter-share\"><a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/intent\/tweet?via=cjamescollier\" class=\"twitter-share-button\">Tweet<\/a><\/div>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>So, I&#8217;m taking vacation this week and next.
