    UW Hypervisor looks stable

The new hardware looks like it’s reliable. The one I swapped out 10 days ago crashed every 3 days or so for reasons I couldn’t discern. I changed that one for a spare I had laying around and have been hosting my blog on the machine to exercise it. So far, no crashes, and a…

  • Replaced hypervisor

The system which was hosting this blog had a tendency to go down every few days. I swapped it out for a spare yesterday. Let’s see if it stays up. The hypervisor hosts this web server, a mysql server and an SKS pool member, all of which are built on top of Squeeze.

  • Bitcoin WoT using PGP/SKS

There was recently a post to the sks list prompting discussion regarding the use of PGP and SKS as a distributed web of trust for an alternative currency system called “Bitcoin.” This reminds me of a project I worked on in the early ’00s with the late Jeff Fairhall and Thomas Greco. Anyhow, I mumbled…

  • F5 opens second International Technology Center in London

Very cool. Presided over by my friend and the VP of our group, Erik Giesa. Notably lacking is the inclusion of a picture of Steve Mitchell’s smiling face. The first of our ITCs is here in Seattle. We’ve got some space on our internet site dedicated to them: http://www.f5.com/solutions/resources/technology-center/

  • Rokey-Tobu

This maneuver consisted of holding someone’s hand and patting it while assuring them that someone who has experience responding to emergencies would be there soon.

  • Looking to get Iron* and the DLR into RedHat

I sent an email to the Fedora Legal list asking whether they will accept software released under the MS-PL license. My friend and former colleague, Brett Lentz mentioned that he was concerned that the Fedora folks might not accept software released under the MS-PL. So I asked. I also bcc’d a certain troll on said…

  • I was going to write an opinion article….

But then I thought better of the idea. Anyone who still takes bn seriously after the recent terrorist actions is likely not going to be swayed by facts, proof of their hypocrisy, their total lack of participation in the community and failure to engage with campaigns they claim to support. Rather than taking the time…
